About us

The Bryant Trust is a medium-sized grant-making trust based in the West Midlands with a strong Birmingham connection.

We, the Trustees, use our knowledge of local issues and neighbourhoods to identify those applicants who we believe can use modest grants for the greatest benefit.

Our interests are quite wide-ranging. We are as concerned about addressing special needs, deprivation and disadvantage as we are in fostering health and well being and a greater engagement with the arts and heritage.

In small ways, we want to make a big difference.

'Special Grants'

Our Trustees apply a substantial proportion of the income of our Trust Fund (70-80%) in making 'Special Grants' to a small number of registered charities of which one or more of the Trustees or the Settlors have a special knowledge.

'Small Grants Scheme'

The remaining 20-30% of our Trust Fund is given in the form of a 'Small Grants Scheme'. These grants are normally in the £500-£3,000 range with the most common grant being £1,000. Occasionally grants can be outside this range. These are given to a wide range of local registered charities (not to individuals) whose sphere of activity is within a very few miles of Birmingham City Centre.
